The second semifinal of the Crown's Counter-Strike Invitational has concluded, with Virtus.pro defeating Renegades 2-1 (16-4 on de_train, 4-16 on de_inferno, and 16-14 on de_cache).
Following the suprising defeat of Cloud9 to the hometown heroes of Immunity, the second semifinal saw Rengades (widely considered Australia's best and most experienced squad) take on the Poles of Virtus.pro.
With 55,555 AUD (~$40,000) on the line, the two teams jumped into map one which was de_train and which was over in the blink of an eye as Filip "NEO" Kubski's men cruised to a 16-4 victory.

The second map was de_inferno and actually saw a domineering Renegades T-side swing the map's momentum easily in the Australians' favour, and it was Renegades who took map two with a mirrored scoreline of 16-4.
de_cache was the third map and was symbolically a much more evenly contested battleground, with the first half this time featuring multiple back-and-forth shifts in momentum and round advantage: it finished 8-7 to VP's advantage.
The second pistol went the way of the Renegades and Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill and company brought the map to their court with a 10-8 lead.
Virtus.pro however had other plans, and activated a seven round plow that gave them the match point. Despite a small comeback by the Renegades, Virtus.pro ultimately closed out the map 16-14 following a one-versus-two by Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas.
